The Impact of the Changing Healthcare Regulatory Environment

The aim of this research service is to present an analysis of proposed regulatory changes within the South African healthcare system by providing an overview of the nature of current regulatory dynamics and examining the recently drafted regulations. Developments include the establishment of a pricing committee, which has recently proposed the introduction of an international benchmarking methodology and pharmacoeconomic evaluation guidelines. This insight will also discuss the impact of regulatory changes on the South African private healthcare system.
