This Microelectronics TOE profiles advancements in data storage, millimeter wave, smart antennas, and LEDs. Innovations profiled include plastic optical fiber (POF) communications for smart antennas, mid-infrared (IR) light-emitting diodes (LEDs), water-repellent capacitors for automotive applications, microwave-assisted magnetic recording (MAMR) technology-based hard disk drives (HDDs) and magnet-free non-reciprocal circulator integrated circuit (IC) for millimeter-wave applications. The Microelectronics TechVision Opportunity Engine (TOE) captures global electronics-related innovations and developments on a weekly basis.
