European Wave Energy Market Assessment
The European wave energy industry has a huge potential for development with major utilities and industrial companies engaged in a number of projects, which are either under development or in planning stages. According to the European Commission, it is estimated that the wave energy installed capacity will reach 0.9 GW in 2020 and 1.7 GW in 2030 in base case scenario. In an optimistic case, the installed capacity is estimated to reach 10GW in 2020 and 16 GW in 2030.
