Mobile Application Storefronts
Since 2009, Apple's App Store has continued to lead the market in terms of applications, downloads, and revenue. However, over the past two years, Google's Android Market has clearly established itself as the main competitor to Apple's iOS app store. In 2011, the application count amongst all of the competing app stores (iOS, Android, Symbian, BlackBerry, webOS, and Windows Phone) grew to nearly 1.28 million - with iOS and Android accounting for nearly 1.06 million, or 82.8 percent.
