Next Generation Networks in the Netherlands

The fibre-based broadband market in the Netherlands is growing at a faster rate than many other Western European countries. The major reasons are interest of the incumbents, timely regulations, and activities of municipalities. But a number of factors can speed the growth of the number of subscribers and the number of households passed by fibre. This study analyses those factors, and forecasts the number of subscribers for fibre-based broadband services and the number of households passed by fibre.
