Wearables and the Growing Trend toward Connected Living - a Significant Opportunity for Testing and Monitoring Participants

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept by which information in the physical world can be mapped and assimilated through a myriad of devices. By seamlessly connecting chipsets, modules, and end devices to each other, the degree of human intervention is substantially reduced, thereby enhancing the degree of automation considerably. IoT has gained traction in a number of industries. During the base year (2014), the industry generated more than $2.41 billion in absolute revenue, which is expected to grow to $9.478 billion by 2019, at a CAGR of 21.6% between 2014 and 2021. The proliferation of IoT will be a significant factor of growth for the network testing and monitoring community.
