Improving Machinability of Compact Graphite Iron
A lot of challenges need to be addressed regarding the machinability of compact graphite iron (CGI) due to its high strength, stiffness and hardness. Researchers, S. Country Industry Forecast

Implications of New Emission Standards on the Canadian Automakers
In 2003, Canada formulated its new ‘On-Road Vehicles and Engine Emission Regulations', which came into force on 1 January, 2004. The regulations align the Canadian vehicular emissions standards with the US federal standards. The new exhaust emission norms adopted in Canada are identical to that of the US Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Tier 2 Standards. According to the norms, motor vehicle manufacturers are required to certify every vehicle to one of the eleven bins (emission categories) each of which comprises standards for nitrogen oxide, non-methane organic gases, carbon monoxide, formaldehyde and particulate matter. This Country Industry Forecast study analyses the implication of these new emission standards on the Canadian automakers. The other key topics covered in this study are: Canada-South Korea FTA, on-road and off-road vehicle and engine emission regulations and their implications on its automakers, forthcoming motor safety regulations, and a detailed political policy analysis of the new Canadian Government and its impact on its automotive industry.
