Frost & Sullivan Seeks Investors as Part of Its Global Expansion Strategy
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. — September 1, 2009 — Frost & Sullivan, the Growth Partnership Company, is actively seeking individuals and institutions interested in investing in or lending to the firm.
Frost & Sullivan's board has recently approved a new round of debt to be issued to interested, qualified investors. The board has approved a $10 million USD investment package, which will be structured primarily in debt obligations yielding 10 percent per annum. Frost & Sullivan has successfully raised prior rounds of funding from individuals as part of its financing strategy and is looking to close this current round within the next 90 days.
The decision to partner with outside investors comes as Frost & Sullivan completes its new client service strategy, which has been in development for the past few years. Founded in 1961, Frost & Sullivan has long been regarded as the world's largest research organization, producing a variety of reports covering markets and emerging technologies. In recent years, the company has developed a growth consulting capability, becoming a trusted advisor to CEOs and senior leadership on growth strategy development and execution. The company now seeks to build on this foundation by launching programs that fully exploit the firm's robust consulting capabilities.
"We are rolling out our global vision strategy in a series of phases," explains David Frigstad, chairman of Frost & Sullivan. "In the first phase, we needed a global footprint to meet our clients' needs and keep pace with the rapid trend of globalization. Over the last five years, we have therefore opened more than 20 global offices and have found that we can now provide much more relevant consulting to clients interested in achieving growth through geographic expansion or global product launches."
Continues Frigstad, "The second phase of our strategy was to use our world-class research capability to provide clients with comprehensive and highly detailed assessments of current and emerging growth opportunities. Our wealth of insights enables our clients to make wise strategy decisions and implement those strategies intelligently."
The final phase of the firm's new value proposition is the introduction of the Client Integration Platform, which delivers an innovative suite of services and programs to help our clients accelerate their growth. This platform encompasses Frost & Sullivan's strategic partnership consortium, its global Growth Partnership Services, and its Growth Team Membership™ program, which provides CEOs with an interdisciplinary combination of best practices research, benchmarking, and coaching.
"Clients and strategic partners have responded enthusiastically to the steps we've taken to make Frost & Sullivan the premier growth consulting firm," adds Frigstad. "We have introduced many of our new resources – including implementation-focused toolkits, best practice case studies, and interactive think tanks – at our Global Growth, Innovation and Leadership events, which we hold in every major market of the world. We continue to hear from senior executives worldwide that the resources we offer are aligned with their needs and can offer immediate and measurable value to their organizations. As companies emerge from the economic downturn, they are engaging Frost & Sullivan to help position them for the next wave of growth."
