LONDON - 29 May 2009 – Frost & Sullivan celebrated the success of outstanding business achievement at the "2009 Growth Excellence Awards Banquet" on Wednesday 20 May.
Movers and shakers from around the world were honoured during this event which was held at the Sofitel St. James in London. The evening also included a keynote address from Frost & Sullivan Chairman David Frigstad, who spoke about the complex business universe and the mileage gained from the evening's event/impact of the evening's awards.
"The Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Award can best be captured in three words – inspire, influence and impact – with the overarching goal of accelerating growth for recipient companies," he said.
Top performers across several industries including Automotive & Transportation, Information & Communication Technologies, Energy & Environment, and Automation & Electronics were recognised at this prestigious event.
Frost & Sullivan's banquet celebrated the positive impact which these companies' unique and innovative solutions and services are making across a diverse range of markets.
The dual honour of being awarded both the 2009 European Wireless Mesh Networking Technology Innovation Award and the 2008 European Wireless Sensors Competitive Strategy Leadership Award went to Coronis, an Elster Group company. Likewise, Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies (VWS) was recognised for exceptional performance in two categories, as Jean-Michel Herrewyn scooped the coveted CEO of the Year award as well as accepting the 2008 European Water & Wastewater Treatment Business Development Strategy Leadership Award on behalf of VWS, the technical subsidiary of Veolia Water.
Accolades for defence industry players MIRO Technologies and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. were bestowed in the categories of 2009 European Defence Logistics Product Line Strategy and 2009 Global Defence Industry Product of the Year respectively. Meanwhile, ND SatCom was conferred the 2009 European Defence Communication Competitive Strategy Leadership Award.
Excellence in best practices demonstrated in the chemical industry were showcased on the night by PURAC, Sulzer Chemtech and Synbra Technology who accepted their joint 2008 European Polylactide Production Technology Innovation of the Year Award, while DSM Composite Resins received Frost & Sullivan's 2008 Global Aerospace Polymers & Composites Product Innovation Award.
Solvay S.A. was lauded with the 2009 European Epichlorohydrin Production Green Excellence of the Year Award and Marigot Ltd. & GTC Nutrition received the honour of the 2008 Global Food and Beverage Prebiotics Product Innovation Award.
The automotive industry was represented by e-Traction Europe B.V., named 2008 European Automotive Powertrain Entrepreneurial Company Award on the night, and MiX Telematics who celebrated the receipt of the 2008 European Commercial Vehicle Telematics Product Line Strategy Award.
