AT&T’s Continuing Dominance over U.S. Audio Conferencing Services Market Garner it the Market Leadership Award

Palo Alto, Calif. — May 17, 2005 — Based on AT&T’s leading market share position, Frost & Sullivan’s recent analysis titled U.S. Audio Conferencing Services Market selected it as the recipient of the 2005 Market Leadership Award. Despite competition becoming intense, AT&T has sustained its market leadership position, growing in both revenues and minutes within the U.S. audio conferencing services market. It is the fourth year in a row AT&T has maintained its market leadership position.

Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this Award to a company that exhibited market share leadership by excelling in all areas of the market leadership process – the identification of industry challenges, market drivers and restraints, strategy development, and methods of addressing these market dynamics. The Award also lauds the recipient’s ability to monitor impending market changes and stay ahead through superior market strategies.

"AT&T continues to expand its position throughout the entire conferencing services industry with high quality premier attended services and easy-to-use reservation-less conferencing," says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst S.V Purushothaman. "With the strongest brand name in conferencing services, a global reach and an ubiquitous IP infrastructure, the company has dominated the U.S. audio conferencing services market for the past four years."

The company’s focus on conferencing services is evident from the fact that it has a separate sales force dedicated to selling audio conferencing services. In addition, AT&T also leverages the capabilities of other sales groups in the company to cross-sell and up-sell audio conferencing services into their existing accounts. This provides a significant advantage over other service providers as AT&T's sales team is more focused than many competitors.

In addition, the company continues to innovate in its offerings to stay in line with market trends. Current offerings include many features including pre-call planning, 24/7 help desk, and translation services.

"AT&T has also taken convergence seriously from the very beginning and has succeeded in developing integrated relationships with other major conferencing vendors," notes Purushothaman. "The company is aggressive in incorporating Internet protocol (IP) into its business services, which is evident from its ‘services over IP’ (SoIP) strategy."

For these reasons, Frost & Sullivan is pleased to recognize AT&T with the Award for Market Leadership in the U.S. audio conferencing services market.
