Q. How do I sign up to volunteer?
A. When registering for MARKETING WORLD 2011: A Frost & Sullivan Executive MindXchange, select Helping Hands activity which add the suggested $50.00 donation to your registration or contact Autumn Gondecki, at autumn.gondecki@frost.com.
Q. What type of volunteer opportunity is available?
A. Habitat for Humanity helps build homes. We will assist Habitat for Humanity build new, simple and affordable homes from the ground up in the New Orleans area.
Q. Should I bring my own tools?
A. It is not necessary to bring any tools; however, if you wish to bring your own tools you are welcome to. Items that are especially useful are a tool belt, hammer, measuring tape, pencil, razor knife, cat/bear claw, etc. Please clearly label all tools if you choose to bring your own.
Q. What do I wear?
A. Footwear needs to be a sturdy, closed-toe and closed-heel shoes. Boots or sneakers are appropriate footwear. Keep in mind that your clothes will likely become dirty, so dress accordingly. Also, the weather fluctuates frequently, so please stay informed of weather conditions and pack accordingly.
Q. What do I do if it rains the day of volunteering?
A.. If the weather forecasts rain, report to registration in the morning at the Westin Hotel for information. Often Habitat for Humanity assigns indoor tasks in the event of rain. It is very rare that they cancel a work day; however, if this is the case we will communicate to you as early as possible.

What to Expect
Typical Workday:
- Tuesday, February 8, 2011- 7:30am - 12:00pm
- Short 15 minutes safety briefing in the morning
- Following the safety briefing, the group will depart for their assigned to a home/project
- The assignment could be any range of duties included in building new homes from the floor system to the roof
- Our work site will be in either Orleans or Jefferson Parish
- Depending on the need at the time, you will be assigned one or more home/projects for the day
Food:
- Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for you by Frost & Sullivan
- Water: Water coolers and bottles will be provided. We welcome you to bring refillable water bottles with you to the worksite. Stay hydrated during the day!
Transportation:
- Transportation will be provided for you
- Please meet the group at Frost & Sullivan’s registration desk in the hotel’s main lobby at 7:00am
Skills:
- Previous experience is NOT required but if you would like to utilize a skill please inform us
- Inform Frost & Sullivan if you have any physical limitations, safety concerns, or are uncomfortable in any situation
- We recognize many of our volunteers may have little or no construction experience, and we hope to make this a learning experience for everyone
Dress:
