THE CHALLENGE - A publicly owned space & communications satellite operator was seeking to privatize and pursue new markets.  The client approached Frost & Sullivan's research and consulting teams in search of information to support the restructuring of its business portfolio and the optimization of its service offering to reflect changes in the communications satellite services market.

THE PROCESS - Frost & Sullivan delivered market demand forecast models for each communications satellite service. We then divided the global market into 10 regions and estimated current and future demand for each. The demand was then further divided into Ku-band, C-band and Ka-band.

Following a thorough analysis of the research, Frost & Sullivan advised the client on how to effectively pursue new target markets. In addition, the client was given a detailed written analysis that described demand for each application in each region, as well as applications drivers, restraints, regulatory and political conditions, and competing technologies that will shape the future of the market.

THE SOLUTION - The client diversified its business portfolio by adding services to its existing core competencies. Based in part on Frost & Sullivan’s findings, the client is considering acquisitions in pursuit of diversification of services.
