Summary
Richard Sebastian is a Research Analyst with the Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Electronics & Security Division. He focuses on monitoring and analyzing emerging trends, technologies and market behavior on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) across the region. Since joining Frost & Sullivan in 2007, Richard has had the privilege to work with the RFID community both at a regional and global level in which he has led and authored a number of strategic research studies on RFID as the lead analyst. He recently led a consulting project for MCMC to analyze the macro-economic impact of RFID to the Malaysian economy, and findings from this are to be used to frame the National RFID Roadmap for the 10th Malaysia Plan. Some of his key findings from other studies have been presented through webinars, and Richard has also spoken in events such as the World RFID Asia Conference, Motorola RFID Ecosystem Summit, GS1 Supply Chain Conference , myBroadband Conference and the MCMC-SIRIM RFID Roadmap Planning Workshop. In addition to this, his work has also appeared and cited in industry journals and websites such as Industry Wizards, RFID Journal, Procurement Asia, AS Magazine, and Ground Handling; to name a few. Besides his primary focus as an analyst to cover the RFID ecosystem, Richard has also worked on a couple of independent market research (IMR) projects for company listing exercises together with the Business Financial Services team during his tenure in Frost & Sullivan. Richard has completed his Six Sigma Green Belt course and undertaken several Six Sigma projects in areas of product innovation, cost savings and quality control through his stint working in the Engineering division of a leading global electronics manufacturer. He has a Bachelors Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and a Masters of Science in Management of Information Technology. Richard completed his postgraduate dissertation in the area of RFID.
