In your opinion how did the industry weather the storm last year and what is the outlook of this industry for 2010 moving forward?

The smart card industry has not been as adversely affected as some other industries and increase of usage and adoption of main applications around digital security have continued growing despite the crisis. In addition, the focus on cost control in the telecom industry has also led to a growth of SIM card only offers, without handsets, further sustaining SIM card volume globally despite stagnation in the overall telecom equipment market.

In banking, many markets have already or are adopting EMV and growth is slated to continue beyond this as banking card usage increases exponentially.
