Globally, there is a strong positive outlook in the development of aerospace clusters focusing on both manufacturing, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) activities. Some of the key success factors for aerospace clusters have been listed below.

  • Offsets and partnership programs were effectively used by various countries to stimulate aerospace manufacturing and MRO growth in Asia.
  • Ecosystem development is necessary for MRO and manufacturing clusters to become effective. This ecosystem will typically have industries across the aerospace value chain.
  • Local participation is crucial in setting up back-end support; hence, it is important to have local companies participate in the cluster.
  • Additionally, to develop an aerospace hub, government incentives and initiatives will play a large role in attracting foreign investment and in expanding local companies.
