Frost & Sullivan Identifies LabWare’s Product Quality Leadership in LIMS

Published: 29 Mar 2004

Palo Alto, Calif. – March 29, 2004 – In a recent analysis of the World Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Market, Frost & Sullivan acknowledged LabWare, Inc.‘s strategic focus on developing and successfully deploying enterprise LIMS applications, as well as its diligent incorporation of industry standards such as ODBC and XML, which ensures that the company’s products keep pace with technological advances.

In this study, Frost & Sullivan highlighted the novel approach implemented by LabWare, which enables delivery of new functionality as discrete application modules. This unique application architecture allows customers to gradually increase the functionality of their LIMS without incurring the massive efforts and costs associated with major upgrades and holistic system validation.

"The recent spurt of mergers and acquisitions within the pharmaceutical industry has created an overwhelming need to standardize operations and facilitate information sharing," says Frost & Sullivan research manager Nate Cosper. "LabWare’s modular approach addresses this need in a cost-effective manner by integrating operations and eliminating redundancies on a global level."

"We are very pleased to be recognized by Frost & Sullivan with the Product Quality Leadership Award", said Vance V. Kershner, President of LabWare. "The award is consistent with the overwhelming response we have received over the last few years from our customers. LabWare continues to grow annually at double-digit rates, because our product is proven in the market and delivers significant and continuous customer value."

Furthermore, the modular approach enables a customer to go live with a limited version and add functionality in a controlled fashion over time, allowing users to upgrade at a pace that suits their budget and timeline.

For its success in creating effective products that have garnered significant repeat sales and for its contribution to long-term market survival, Frost & Sullivan names LabWare, Inc. the recipient of the 2004 Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Quality Leadership. The award recognizes the increased operational efficiency of LabWare’s LIMS installations. It also considers customers’ dependency on the product, especially in the performance of mission critical tasks.
