More than 70 percent of executives in a recent survey cited innovation as one of the top three drivers of growth for their companies over the next 3 to 5 years. A majority of respondents in this same survey also said they see innovation as the most direct route to "accelerating the pace of change in today's business environment." (Joanna Barsh, Marla M. In sum, these executives believe that breakthrough innovations reignite industries, reengage customers, and lead to long-term increases in sales.
