Published: 11 Feb 2017

North American economic growth that proved to be less volatile in 2016 is expected to strengthen in 2017, supported predominantly by rising domestic demand and fiscal stimulus measures signaled by the US President-elect Donald Trump, and an expected rebound in manufacturing in the United States. Flat growth, however, might be expected in the United States while new policies are prepared. Canada will strengthen its non-energy sector in 2017 and Canadian exports stand to benefit from a strong US economy.
