Published: 26 Jan 2018

Many of the dynamics set in place by net neutrality’s brief life will take time to play out. For example, investment in content creation rather than broadband deployment will take time to consummate. However, Stratecast expects to see significant changes in network operator behavior in the shorter term. These changes will likely be good for consumers, and may even be very good for content providers. In this report the current status of net neutrality is assessed; and a new theory as to why the repeal of net neutrality is actually good for the market is suggested. Hint: it is not about content control; it is about content variety.
