The current issue of the High Tech Materials TOE profiles an innovative battery operated helmet, which offers comfort for users by regulating temperature within its capsule. A heat activated epoxy composite has been showcased, which could protect metals and steels from corrosion under insulation. A liquid metal, which could be used to produce robotic components of complex geometries and soft texture, has also been discussed in this issue. A plant-based microencapsulation system, which protects and delivers cosmetic actives subcutaneously on the epidermis has also been discussed. Finally, a selectively erasable photoresist, which is capable of selective and sequential degradation and reassembly of the laser-written microstructures is also in focus in the TOE.
