This Microelectronics TOE profiles developments in power semiconductors, data storage, and fast charging . Innovations include a novel technique for fabrication of gallium oxide power devices, atomic sheets-based memory storage devices, 5G chipset for faster network rollout and IoT applications, fast charging infrastructure for drones, and fast charging technology for ensuring user safety for smartphones. The Microelectronics TechVision Opportunity Engine (TOE) captures global electronics-related innovations and developments on a weekly basis. Developments are centred on electronics attributed by low power and cost, smaller size, better viewing, display and interface facilities, wireless connectivity, higher memory capacity, flexibility and wearables.
