This Microelectronics TOE profiles developments in solid state drives, microchips, and field programmable gate arrays. Innovations include non-volatile memory express solid state drive (SSD) controllers with host interface flexibility, SSD using intelligent destruction circuit, self-sufficient chips that are independent of battery, flash controller technology-based solid state drives, and a visual system integrator using FPGA/embedded system integration. The Microelectronics TechVision Opportunity Engine (TOE) captures global electronics-related innovations and developments on a weekly basis. Developments are centred on electronics attributed by low power and cost, smaller size, better viewing, display and interface facilities, wireless connectivity, higher memory capacity, flexibility and wearables.
