Google Buzz Backlash Holds Privacy Warning for Enterprise Vendors

In case you missed it, Google's latest foray into social media, Buzz, has been getting some bad buzz of its own--for poorly protecting its users' privacy. Now, Google is a free consumer service, and the company is not the first of its kind to act first, and ask permission later--then backtrack as needed. But vendors should pay close attention to how quickly users jumped on the policies Google initially set for its new app. Enterprise IT managers tend to me *more* skittish than consumers when it comes to setting security and control rules, so vendors that develop or integrate with social media tools should make privacy protection a top priority.
