At Motive Vision Day, 2025

Motive has provided us with a glimpse into the future of physical operations by unveiling a comprehensive suite of AI-powered products. These solutions address long-standing safety issues and operational inefficiencies in sectors ranging from transportation and construction to energy and logistics. From tackling fraud and fatigue to streamlining coaching and analytics, Motive’s latest launches highlight the role of automation, intelligence, and integration in modern fleet, asset and workforce management.

Prioritizing Safety

Safety has always been a top priority for organizations with physical operations. Every year, driver fatigue, lane swerving, and unsafe parking result in tens of thousands of preventable crashes. Motive has revealed how it is tackling some of these risks on the road, while unveiling its next-generation AI safety models that detect and prevent such incidents.

For instance, Motive’s Fatigue Index model uses over ten indicators, including yawning, erratic speed changes, and minimal movement, to detect drowsiness in real time. Importantly, Motive’s generative AI rapidly trains on large volumes of real-world and simulated data for more accurate and accelerated detection. The pioneering Lane Swerving Detection model assesses repeated swerving behavior over time rather than isolated incidents. To identify risk patterns, Motive sends real-time in-cab alerts to employees and compiles all of the instances into a single dashboard event that provides a clear and comprehensive view for fleet managers.

The company has also showcased AI-powered Unsafe Parking Detection as another industry first. Here, instead of relying solely on GPS and telematics, Motive’s solution leverages computer vision to identify vehicles pulled over in high-risk areas. Managers then receive immediate alerts, giving them time to intervene and prevent these dangerous “sitting duck” scenarios from escalating.

These capabilities are powered by Motive’s AI Dashcam, which captures billions of miles of driving data monthly. Combined with generative AI and a dedicated Safety Team that reviews every flagged event, the platform eliminates false positives and continuously improves the accuracy rates of models. Accordingly, Motive claims that its customers experience an 80% reduction in collision rates within a year of deployment.

Transforming Insight into Action

Unveiling breakthrough AI products

Another standout launch from Motive is the AI Coach, advertised as the first AI-powered avatar to deliver personalized, consistent feedback to drivers at scale. A fully automated virtual coach, it modifies messages based on each driver’s weekly performance, offering feedback on parameters like safety, fuel efficiency, and compliance, among others. The AI Coach’s insights, therefore, eliminate the need for constant manual oversight, while supporting measurable improvements.

Complementing the AI Coach is the new Motive AI Assistant, an embedded agent that operates across the platform to surface crucial insights and time-sensitive issues. The focus here is to allow teams to respond to emerging risks speedily and accurately and replace manual tasks with AI-driven decisions to reduce downtime, losses, and liability.

Among the noteworthy capabilities of the AI Assistant is the ability to identify and assess the severity of a critical vehicle fault and then advise vehicle operators to safely exit the road accordingly. Motive’s AI Assistant can also process live weather data to predict storm impacts and instantly alert affected employees. Motive has also said it is working to expand its AI Assistant’s capabilities to include proactive detection of unsafe parking and fuel fraud.

Cutting Costs and Combating Fraud

Another major challenge faced by organizations that operate fleets is fuel fraud, with losses sometimes amounting to almost 5% of annual fuel spend. Motive has addressed this with the introduction of a

$250,000 Fraud Protection Guarantee, available to customers using the Motive Card with fraud controls enabled.

The Motive Card comes as part of the company’s integrated Spend Management offering and is currently the only solution that combines real-time telematics data with payment transactions. This allows the system to immediately flag, and auto-decline unauthorized activity based on vehicle location, fuel tank levels, and user permissions. Key fraud prevention tools include mobile-based unlock that requires driver verification via the Motive App or SMS before purchases and proximity checks that disallow transactions if the vehicle isn’t near the fuel station. Upcoming features will be fuel tank threshold limits and smart AI alerts that identify out-of-policy purchases.

Making Data Actionable

The company has also introduced Motive Analytics which provides safety, operations, and finance teams with real-time access to fleet performance, using live dashboards, intuitive drilldowns, and customizable reporting tools. This AI-powered analytics layer helps businesses uncover trends, identify root causes, and make fast, data-driven decisions. It thereby empowers teams to turn raw data into meaningful action at scale.

Motive Analytics integrates across the platform, eliminating siloed data. It consolidates insights from safety, maintenance, and spend management into a single view. The company has also noted it will incorporate natural language querying that allows users to receive instant reports to their queries.

Optimizing Workforce Management

Motive’s newly launched Workforce Management solution simplifies the complexities associated with managing distributed workforces. It achieves this by digitizing and automating every stage of employee oversight from qualifications and timecards to training and tracking tasks. Enhanced compliance is realized through digitized driver qualification documents, while accountability and planning are improved through AI-driven task management.

The solution integrates seamlessly into the Motive platform. It supports reduced manual errors, accelerated payroll processing, and talent retention by streamlining performance management. Centralized oversight and intelligent workflows promote operational efficiencies and compliance all within a single, unified dashboard.

The Human-AI Partnership

Motive’s integrated AI platform leverages cutting-edge technology as well as “human-in-the-loop” insight to achieve speed and precision. The company has a Safety Team comprising over 450 experts who review every AI-detected safety event generated by the system with the objective of ensuring accuracy, removing false positives, and continually training the system on edge cases. This “human-in-the-loop” model is unique to Motive and is offered as a complimentary service to customers.

Independent research from the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute highlighted that Motive’s AI Dashcam detected unsafe behavior up to four times more accurately than competitors. The company also claims a 99% detection rate for high-severity collisions, with video footage being delivered to managers within seconds.

Integrated and Intelligent Future of Operations

With its latest AI-powered product launches, Motive has underscored the vast potential of AI in physical operations. From preventing crashes and fraud to optimizing workforce performance and unlocking real- time insights, such innovations are building an enabling, data-driven ecosystem anchored in safety, productivity, and intelligence.
