To Identify technology developers involved in developing innovative C1 bioconversion technology platforms. And to identify potential investment candidates.

Project Objectives

  • Identification of R&D initiatives and organizations(universities and venture-backed start-ups) involved in developing innovative C1 bioconversion technology platforms.
  • Assess the selected technology developers using predefined, weight-based criteria.
  • Detailed profiling of shortlisted innovative R&D organizations and their respective technologies.

Our Approach and Work

  • Frost & Sullivan provided a technology overview with a technology snapshot of different technology platforms.
  • The maturity levels of the different technology platforms were identified and summarized
  • 40 Organizations were identified over various platforms and 8 profiles were shortlisted using USP and Patent scoring. The USP score was made on the basis of criteria such as the innovativeness of the technology, and the breadth and depth of R&D.
  • Out of the 8 profiles, the top 2 technology developers were recommended as ideal investment & collaboration candidates for the Japanese major.

  • Conducted primary demand and supply survey to identify the adoption of green technology across the industry value chain.
  • Facilitated a workshop attended by local industry experts, and collected their opinions and foresight
  • Identification of best practices for a national-level low-carbon economy model, based on extensive secondary research
  • Conducted gap analysis comparing Malaysia with other countries that have successfully established a carbon reduction program, so as to identify strengths and weaknesses of the initiatives undertake vis-a-vis Malaysia.
