Assessment of National Innovation Ecosystem, Policy Formulation

The Challenge

One of the governmental agencies involved in national transformation programs identified that their nation was not in line with other emerging economies and was not scaling as per the existing roadmap.

Project Objectives

The governmental agency commisioned Frost & Sullivan to undertake a study of national importance wherein the consultant was expected to understand and evaluate the innovation roadmaps, plans, policies, programs, trends along with certain targeted nations. Post evaluation, Frost & Sullivan was supposed to assess and reformulate policies, revamp innovation ecosystem, design a mid-term strategic vision.

Our Approach and Work

  • Frost & Sullivan offered the client a list of top emerging economies in the proposal phase after preliminary analysis, with the objective of eventually conducting a comparative study of the National Innovation System.
  • Frost & Sullivan approached the project objective of national competitiveness assessment using the double diamond analysis to identify and evaluate best practices in innovation – research & development, commercialization.
  • Frost & Sullivan came up with an innovative entrepreneurial model, devised a new funding model, innovation ecosystem and planned development of new clusters.
  • Frost & Sullivan also assessed policies, programs, grants etc and suggested modifications in existing policies by identifying policy loopholes and evaluation against best practices.

Business Opportunities for a Monolithic MEMS and IC Platform: Strategic Evaluation

The Challenge

The project also involved analyzing key global developments related to Pre & Post CMOS processes, Wafer-level integrations, through Silicon-Vias and 3D integration of ICs and MEMS.

Project Objectives

Identified key stakeholders who are involved or strategically interested in pursuing a monolithic integration of MEMS and IC processes.

Analyze global emerging technology trends related to hybrid and monolithic integration. Identify technology and market challenges as well as drivers for the new technology.

Our Approach and Work

  • Frost & Sullivan conducted primary research with industry experts, stakeholders, and leading researchers. A comprehensive patent and literature review was carried out to develop the study.
  • Frost & Sullivan also conducted SWOT and stakeholder analysis for the monolithic MEMS and IC platform.
  • The recommendations on the commercial viability of the platforms as well as possible commercial collaborators were highlighted.

Outcome and Business Impact

    • Frost & Sullivan team analyzed several CMOS and MEMS foundries on six different key metrics for partnership evaluation.
