Ekahau’s flagship Site Survey & Planner software offers industry-leading customer experience and the highest return on investment for designing and maintaining Wi-Fi networks

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — April 26, 2017 — Frost & Sullivan, the Growth Partnership Company, is pleased to announce that Wi-Fi network design software leader Ekahau has received the 2017 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Customer Value Leadership in Wi-Fi site survey and planning. Frost & Sullivan determined that Ekahau’s innovative Wi-Fi network design software solution best addresses the requirements of Enterprises, service providers and system integrators.

As Wi-Fi is becoming increasingly popular and instrumental with IoT applications, cellular offloading, and Wi-Fi calling, the demands on Wi-Fi networks are increasing. Although users may still tolerate underperforming Wi-Fi services in public free networks, they are often not aware when mobile device connection is being offloaded to Wi-Fi. This causes a perception of poor service, which in turn, leads to customer churn. The increased need for carrier-grade Wi-Fi service, therefore, is undeniable.

“In response, Ekahau developed the Site Survey & Planner, which allows users to plan, validate and maintain Wi-Fi networks” stated Frost & Sullivan Measurement & Instrumentation Program Manager Olga Yashkova. “If quality issues arise, the solution is capable of identifying and troubleshooting them. While very easy to use, Ekahau’s tool is based on complex proprietary algorithms delivering industry leading results.”

Ekahau Site Survey & Planner is capable of reading computer-aided design (CAD) floor plans and automatically detecting the locations of the buildings’ walls. Users of Ekahau’s solutions are able to set their own parameters on how many concurrent users are accessing Wi-Fi service and where Wi-Fi coverage is required. The tool then effortlessly designs an optimal network to meet the customer’s specific requirements. Ekahau has experienced exponential growth over the past few years as thousands of Enterprise customers worldwide have adopted its solution.

“We often hear from our customers that our solution is the easiest to use and provides the most effective way to design, evaluate, validate, and document Wi-Fi networks. So, to receive this recognition for Customer Value Leadership from Frost & Sullivan is proof that we are addressing the needs of the market accurately,” said Ekahau CEO Mika Hakala.

Keith Parsons, industry pioneer and managing director of Wireless LAN Professionals, commented, “Having designed, validated, and taught wireless LANs for nearly 20 years, I’ve been lucky to have spent time using all available professional tools. When it comes to WLAN network design, Ekahau is the undisputed leader. Not only because the product itself is vastly superior, but because outstanding responsiveness of their entire team. Ekahau’s ESS is continually evolving and adapting to meet the needs of Wireless LAN Professionals to help them design Wi-Fi that meets all the requirements necessary for an efficient 802.11 network.”

Ekahau’s Wi-Fi network site survey and planning solutions’ clientele includes more than one hundred Fortune Global 500 companies, thousands of system integrators and tens of thousands of IT administrators in universities, hospitals, and hotels.
